A new senior house “Aurinkomäen Virkkulakodit” was designed for the Pornainen city to fill the urgent need for the senior apartments. Building is designed as a two story building with 27 apartments and common spaces for seniors and residents of the city. The goal for the design of Virkkulakodit is to provide a well designed and functional home for senior residents, with plenty of natural daylight and natural material. The aim is to build a carbon-neutral building with CLT structure and passive resilience.
