The new HOAS apartment building for students will be located in Gotlanninkatu 1-3 with great connectivity of public transport, right next to Itäkeskus metro station. The building will become part of HOAS Asiakaaankatu 6 student housing complex built in 1977. Newly built social and storage spaces will improve the services provided for current and new students. 

The architecture of the new building is calm and composed yet it has a sculptural volume and strong identity, essential for such an important location. The red brick elevations of the street facades connects new building to it’s surroundings, but the courtyard elevations are white. 

Student apartments are facing courtyard, which is protected form traffic noise by the building volume itself. Most of the apartments are one-room apartments with few two-room apartments on every floor. The diversity to the selection brings a variation in the height of floor, which makes a sleeping balcony possible in the higher rooms.
